Barnsley Needs You is a campaign from the Barnsley Work and Skills Board (BWSB) to inspire, motivate and encourage businesses and individuals to raise their standards and offer more to help build a better Barnsley.
The campaign will provide a focus for the resources and determination this community has to overcome long term unemployment and to develop the personal and commercial skills that will guarantee the prosperity of our town. The Barnsley Needs You website provides access to the resources available to help individuals increase their chances of employment through training, volunteering and seeking employment. The aim is to help Barnsley businesses be more competitive and to get Barnsley working.
Whether you are looking for training opportunities, for information on up skilling your workforce or for advice on gaining work experience through volunteering or apprenticeships this site provides a coordinated access to the routes to achieve those ambitions. Everyone can do something.
Working together we can raise aspirations, encourage opportunity, challenge perceptions and make Barnsley the most vibrant community in the country.
Over the past twelve months the Barnsley Work & Skills Board has run a series of compeitions to find the best in our community - Barnsley people and companies who are already showing what can be done to build a better future for our town.
